SPC No. 1 Glycol Plant Starts Technical Renovation
SPC Chemical Division has recently kick-started the technical renovation towards its No. 1 glycol plant, aiming to improve its energy saving and emission reduction capability.
The project, adopting the process renovation package from US Science Design Company, will satisfy the use conditions of highly selective catalyst by reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the recycle gas. After the renovation, the production cost of the plant will be cut dramatically without affecting its production capacity. It is predicted that after the renovation, the plant’s annual consumption of ethylene and oxygen will be decreased by over 10,000 tons and over 4 0,000 tons, respectively. Its unit consumption of ethylene will decline by 5%, an advanced level among its domestic counterparts.
